Materials and skills used in the manufacture of our children´s beds and other furniture for kids

All of our childrens furniture is made with expert attention to detail, using materials carefully sourced from various parts of the world, brought to the UK to be manufactured by our expertly trained staff. All of our staff have a wealth of experience in manufacture and joinery incorporating the following attributes into the production of our kids furniture:

  • All panels from doors to headboards used in the creation of our children´s beds and other children´s furniture are ash hardwood framed with strong joints. Ash is a light coloured wood that looks a little like pine but is a hardwood and will not dent. Obviously due to being a natural product there are variations in the colour of the grain - we believe this adds to the attractiveness of our products.
  • The insides of panels used in our children´s furniture, are either ash veneered ply or in the case of coloured kids furniture, kronospan or firmopal which has a ´marmoleum like´ finish (which you can wipe clean).
  • Our bed bases are constructed of solid MDF which will not break like ´slats´ regardless of how many times it is jumped upon. Each base has air holes needed for mattress ventilation, and is lacquered so you can wipe it clean after any ´accidents´.
  • The drawer boxes and internal cupboards of our kids storage beds and furniture are also made from solid MDF and lacquered, so they are robust and wipe-able. All drawer joints are dovetailed for extra strength.
  • The handles used in the production of our childrens furniture are made from pine which nicely compliments the ash hardwood.
  • We only use full length door hinges on all of our kids furniture for durability of use time after time.
  • 90% AC lacquer with catalyst 4461 is used to achieve a smooth, safe and attractive finish on all of our ash panels with the exception of coloured panels as these are pre-finished.

All of our furniture has been expertly designed to ensure it is compliant with all the current safety standards.
